13 Oahu Wedding Venues for an Unforgettable Hawaii Wedding
If you’re searching for Oahu wedding venues, first of all: you are in for a treat!
Oahu has such an incredible mix of wedding locations, from oceanfront estates and iconic Waikiki hotels to lush gardens, private ranches, mountain-view ballrooms, and intimate hideaways that feel like your own little corner of paradise.
And because I was born and raised in Hawaii, this island is especially close to my heart. My family is still here, my team is here, and I’m back regularly visiting venues, meeting with vendors, and keeping up with all the little details that make planning a destination wedding in Hawaii so unique.

So when I recommend wedding venues in Oahu, I’m looking at more than the pretty view. As a Hawaii wedding planner, I’m thinking about how the space feels when you arrive. Where your guests will stay. What transportation looks like. Whether there’s a solid rain plan. Where the sun sets. How the day will flow. And (of course) whether the venue gives you that special feeling of yes, this is it.
Here are 13 Oahu wedding venues I love, each for a very different reason.
The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay
The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay is for the couple who wants a polished resort experience without being in the middle of Waikiki. You’re still on the North Shore here, surrounded by the ocean and that slower, more relaxed pace of this side of the island.
It’s a wonderful option if you want your wedding to feel like a true destination experience, where your guests arrive, settle in, and make a whole vacation out of it. The setting is beautiful, the resort experience is elevated, and everything you need is right there.
If you are planning to honeymoon in Hawaii afterward, even better! Because you probably won’t want to leave.

Loulu Palm
If your dream Hawaii wedding feels relaxed, private, and just a little bit country, I want you to consider Loulu Palm.

Located on the North Shore of Oahu, far from the bustle of Waikiki, this oceanfront property has a beautiful sprawling lawn that runs right up to the sand. There isn’t a wall or barrier interrupting the view, so your ceremony can feel completely open to the ocean.
For a larger reception, you can bring in a tent on the lawn, while smaller celebrations can make use of the porch. There’s also a charming Hawaiian plantation home for getting ready, which adds so much personality to the property. And please do not skip the tree swing at the entrance! It is such a fun photo spot.

Sunset Ranch
Sunset Ranch is one of my favorites when couples tell me they want something that feels completely different from a resort.
This private estate and horse ranch in Haleiwa has views of both the ocean and the mountains, along with several beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces. You can go lush and jungle-like. You can choose a spot near the ponds. You can say your vows beneath a gorgeous tree or surrounded by acres of open lawn.
Then there’s the barn. It’s large, chic-rustic, and such a great blank canvas if you love the idea of really making a reception space your own.
There are also large air-conditioned getting-ready suites, plenty of privacy, and no random beachgoers wandering through your ceremony.
And there are horses. I repeat: HORSES!
I also love that Sunset Ranch is about more than weddings. The land has an important focus on conservation, agriculture, education, and community, which gives the property even more meaning. It’s beautiful, yes. But it also feels connected to the land and to the North Shore in a way that is really special.

Waimea Valley
Waimea Valley is lush in the way everyone envisions Hawaii as lush. Thousands of tropical plants. Huge monkeypod trees. Dense botanical gardens. And a 45-foot waterfall. (Yes, you can get married in front of it!)
Located on Oahu’s North Shore, Waimea Valley is a protected and culturally significant place, so a wedding here feels very connected to the natural beauty of Hawaii. The reception pavilion stays visually open to the surrounding gardens, which means you never really lose that feeling of being immersed in the landscape. They also offer farm-to-table catering, which is such a lovely way to continue that sense of place through the guest experience.
You may recognize parts of the valley from movies and television, but truly, it does not need Hollywood to make it impressive.

Male’ana Gardens
Male’ana Gardens is my little garden-oasis favorite. Located just steps from Kailua Beach, this private property feels completely tucked away from the rest of the world. And when I say the gardens are lush, I mean lush.
The Balinese garden pavilion is especially gorgeous, with chandeliers, beautiful wooden tables, seating for an intimate group, and an incredible carved wooden gate. There are getting-ready spaces onsite, and overnight stays may also be possible.
Male’ana Gardens is intentionally small, with space for around 20 guests, limited seasonal availability, and only a small number of weddings hosted. So if you are dreaming about a tiny destination wedding that feels private, thoughtful, and incredibly special, this is such a gem.

Palikū Gardens at Kualoa Ranch
Located at Kualoa Ranch on the Windward side of Oahu, Palikū Gardens gives you both mountain and ocean views. The landscape is lush, green, dramatic, and very different from the resort areas of Waikiki or Ko Olina. You can look out toward Mokoliʻi in one direction and the Koʻolau mountains in another.
It’s also breezier and cooler on this side of the island, which can feel wonderful for an outdoor celebration. If mountain views are high on your wedding wish list, Palikū Gardens deserves a very serious look.
(And for some fun trivia, Kualoa Ranch has been used as the backdrop for a long list of movies, including Jurassic films, Jumanji, Kong, 50 First Dates, and Pearl Harbor.)

Ko’olau Ballrooms
Ko’olau Ballrooms is another Windward Oahu venue where the mountains absolutely steal the show. The property sits right at the base of the Ko’olau mountain range in Kaneohe, and the views are dramatic.
There are several event spaces to choose from, including an outdoor ceremony location on the golf course with the mountains rising behind you. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows give the ballroom panoramic views of the Ko’olau mountains, so even if you move indoors, you still get to enjoy the scenery.
And here is my planner brain talking: I really appreciate the rain plan here! There is an indoor ceremony option in front of a waterfall, which is a big plus on the Windward side where rain showers are simply part of the conversation.
Ko’olau Ballrooms can also be a more approachable option financially than some of Oahu’s resort venues, while still giving you one seriously beautiful Hawaii backdrop.

The Royal Hawaiian
The Royal Hawaiian is one of those places you simply know when you see it. Why? Well, it’s pink. Like really pink. Known as the “Pink Palace of the Pacific,” this historic hotel sits directly on Waikiki Beach and has been a Honolulu landmark for generations.
There is an old-school glamour here that I absolutely love. The hotel has welcomed Hollywood royalty and famous guests for decades, and you can still feel some of that history when you walk through the property.
For weddings, the Ocean Lawn spills right toward the sand, while the adjacent Monarch Room gives you unobstructed views of the ocean and Diamond Head. The hotel also has both historic and more contemporary accommodations, so you get that sense of old Hawaii luxury without sacrificing modern comforts.

Lanikūhonua Cultural Institute
Lanikūhonua translates to “Where Heaven Meets the Earth,” which gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect. Located on the west side of Oahu, this oceanfront property is absolutely beautiful and has some of the best sunset potential on the island. Celebrations here are outdoors, with options for both open-air and tented receptions.
And because Lanikūhonua sits right next door to the Four Seasons at Ko Olina, you can have the privacy and openness of a standalone venue while keeping guests very close to luxury accommodations.
This is also a place with deep Hawaiian history, which makes it feel like much more than just a pretty lawn beside the ocean. Oh, and then there are those sunsets. West Oahu does them very, very well.

Four Seasons Resort O’ahu at Ko Olina
If you want a truly elevated resort experience, Four Seasons at Ko Olina is going to be high on my list. Green lawns, outdoor event spaces, ballrooms, a wedding chapel. You can create an entire wedding weekend without asking your guests to bounce all over the island. (That is no small thing when you’re planning a destination wedding!)
The west side also gives you beautiful golden-hour light and sunsets, which makes the outdoor spaces especially lovely later in the day. For couples who want high-touch service, beautiful surroundings, and a guest experience that feels easy from beginning to end, Four Seasons is hard to beat.

Halekulani Hotel
Halekulani is classic Waikiki elegance. This luxury hotel sits right on the beach, with outdoor ceremony spaces overlooking the ocean and Diamond Head.

The location makes destination wedding logistics wonderfully convenient, too. You have getting-ready rooms right there, incredible dining onsite, and countless other hotel options within Waikiki for guests who want different accommodations or price points.
One of my favorite things about Halekulani is the atmosphere. There always seems to be music wafting in from somewhere. The hotel has such a strong tradition of live entertainment that the whole property often feels alive in this soft, lovely way.

La Pietra
La Pietra is such a fun surprise! It’s located in Honolulu and serves as a girls’ school during the week, but the architecture feels like you somehow wandered into an old Italian villa.
There’s a stone courtyard, a beautiful fountain, and a sprawling green lawn surrounded by architecture that gives the entire property a more European feeling. You’re close enough to Waikiki to make accommodations and transportation fairly easy, but far enough away that the setting feels removed from the busy resort area.
If your Pinterest board has Italian villas all over it but your heart is set on Hawaii, La Pietra gives you a little bit of both.

Kaimea Estates
Kaimea Estates is a lovely option for couples who want something intimate and private while still staying close to Honolulu. Located on the beach in Kahala, this locally operated property sits in a quiet residential area and is designed for weddings of around 50 guests or fewer.
There’s a large oceanfront lawn, pool area, open kitchen, and a covered patio and pavilion that work beautifully for indoor-outdoor dining. Because this is a private home rather than a hotel or resort, the whole experience feels more personal and residential. Tables, chairs, a ceremony arbor, and dinnerware are also included, which can make planning a smaller celebration just a little bit easier.

How to Choose the Right Oahu Wedding Venue
With so many beautiful Oahu wedding venues, narrowing down your favorites can feel like a very good problem to have.
But I always encourage couples to think beyond how a venue looks in photos.
Where do you want your guests to stay? Do you want everyone together at a resort, or are you happy to arrange transportation to a private property? Is privacy important to you? Do you picture an oceanfront ceremony, dramatic mountain views, or a lush garden? And how important is an indoor rain plan?
A few ways I would begin narrowing down this list:
If you want that relaxed North Shore feeling, look at Loulu Palm, Turtle Bay, Sunset Ranch, or Waimea Valley.
If lush mountains are your priority, Paliku Gardens and Koʻolau Ballrooms are both incredible.
For an elevated resort experience, Four Seasons, Halekulani, and Turtle Bay are wonderful options.
For iconic Waikiki, Halekulani and The Royal Hawaiian are hard to beat.
If you’re planning something very intimate, I love Maleʻana Gardens and Kaimea Estates.
If privacy is a priority, Loulu Palm, Sunset Ranch, Maleʻana Gardens, and Kaimea Estates are all worth exploring.
If you are a sunset person, helloooo, West Oahu. Lanikuhonua and Four Seasons at Ko Olina belong on your list.
There really isn’t one “best” wedding venue on Oahu. The best venue is the one that fits your priorities, guest experience, vision, and the way you want your wedding weekend to feel.
